Ceefax Comes To An With Digital Switchover
The world's first teletext service, BBC Ceefax, will come to an end as the UK's digital switchover is completed.
Olympic champion Dame Mary Peters will turn off the last analogue TV signal in Northern Ireland at 23.30 on Tuesday.
A series of graphics on Ceefax's front page will mark its 38 years on the BBC.
Meanwhile, the Plain English Campaign announced a lifetime achievement award for Ceefax's "clarity" and use of "everyday words".
Badger Cull Put On Hold
The government has announced it will delay a planned cull of badgers in England until next summer, after widespread protests against the scheme.
Environment Secretary Owen Paterson said this was necessary to "get it right" and the "optimal time" for this year had passed.
Under the coalition's plans, several thousand badgers could be shot by trained marksmen, in an effort to reduce levels of bovine tuberculosis.
Opponents have argued that the cull is unnecessary.
TV-am Presenter Mike Morris Dies Aged 65
Former TV-am presenter Mike Morris has died aged 65.
He joined ITV's breakfast show as a sports reporter and presenter when it launched and went on to present Good Morning Britain on Saturdays.
He became anchorman of Good Morning Britain in 1987 and presented Yorkshire TV's news magazine programme Calendar until 2002
Morris was born in Harrow, Middlesex in June 1947 and started his journalistic career with the Surrey Comet in 1969.

Jeremy Clarkson Suspended By BBC 'Following A Fracas'
The BBC has suspended Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson, "following a fracas". It is understood that Clarkson was involved in an incident with a producer of the motoring programme, however no details have been released. The BBC confirmed that Clarkson has been suspended "pending an investigation" and Top Gear will not be aired on Sunday.

Veteran radio presenter John Peel dies
The veteran radio presenter John Peel has died while on holiday in Peru, it has emerged today. The 65-year-old father of four, who was the corporation's longest-serving radio broadcaster, suffered a heart attack at the holiday resort of Cuzco last night. His wife Sheila was at the resort with him.

£100k Rewards For 1994 Murder
A £100,000 reward is being offered by detectives hunting the killer of Doreen Morris, who was murdered at her home in Holyhead in 1994. Last Thursday marked the sixteenth anniversary of the death of the 64-year-old woman, whose badly burnt remains were discovered at her home Penrhyn Uchaf on Mill Lane.

Visits to UK museums rise by 11m from 2001
More people are taking advantage of free admission to museums and galleries in England, according to new figures out today. Visits have risen by nearly 11 million since the introduction of the free admissions policy in December 2001. There were 5.3 million extra visitors in the first year, and an extra 5.6 million last year.

Badger cull considered in plans to tackle bovine TB
The Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has warned that badgers could be culled in order to stop the spread of bovine tuberculosis (TB). Defra stressed that scientific, as well as other evidence, was "vital" to solving the problem.
