Funeral Held For BBC Reporter

A funeral has been held for the BBC reporter whose death has prompted an inquiry into how managers at the broadcaster dealt with his complaints.

Russell Joslin, 50, was a reporter for BBC Coventry and Warwickshire.

He was hit by a bus on 19 October and admitted to Warwick Hospital. He is believed to have killed himself.

It has been reported that Mr Joslin made complaints shortly before his death that he had been sexually harassed by a female colleague.

Family, friends and BBC colleagues attended a mass earlier at Kenilworth’s St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

He was later buried at Kenilworth Cemetery.

Mr Joslin worked as a journalist for the majority of his career. He worked for the BBC in Coventry and Birmingham, but had also done freelance work for national newspapers, including the Sun and Daily Mirror.

He has been described as an "amazing talent".

It has been reported that the church was full to capacity.

A post-mortem examination found Mr Joslin had died from asphyxiation.

The BBC announced on Tuesday it would be appointing an independent, external body to oversee an inquiry into the reporter’s death and specifically how his complaints were handled.

Warwickshire Police say they are looking into Mr Joslin's death as a matter of routine.
