Summit set to tackle bear market fall out
Leading UK players from the worlds of banking, insurance and asset management are coming together for a summit to tackle the issues affecting the financial services sector in the wake of one of the longest periods of 'bear market' conditions to hit the sector.
The Financial Services Summit, to be held in Edinburgh, will provide an opportunity for as many as 100 key UK players to debate issues critical to success of the industry at regional, national and global level.
Belfast-born Eamonn Rice, head of financial services with Ernst & Young in Scotland and Northern Ireland, said: “We are breaking new ground with this summit by pulling together the top players from the various industry segments and providing a platform from which they can address the issues critical to success both now and in the future.
"Although the financial services sector comprises diverse businesses, many of the challenges being faced are common. The summit will highlight the fact we must work together and learn from each other if the sector as a whole is to thrive in what is an increasingly challenging environment globally.”
Issues scheduled for discussion include strategies for global success for the UK financial services institutions; the regulatory and consumer challenges facing the industry; and managing risk in changing times.
The conference takes place at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Edinburgh on May 7 and 8.
