Funeral For Murdered Church Organist
The funeral is taking place of a church organist who died after being assaulted on Christmas Eve.
68-year-old Alan Greaves from High Green, Sheffield, was attacked while on his way to Midnight Mass on 24 December. He died three days later.
Jonathan Bowling, 22, and Ashley Foster, 21, have been charged with his murder.
Man In Hospital Following Aberdeenshire Crash
A man has been admitted to hospital following a crash in Aberdeenshire.
The incident happened at about 06:45 on the B977 between Mill of Fintray and Kintore on Wednesday.
The man’s injuries are thought to be life threatening. He was cut free after his car left the road and collided with a tree.
Men Arrested Over Murder Of Elderly Man
Two men have been charged with murder following the death of an elderly man in Cambridgeshire.
Llywelyn Thomas, 76, was found dead at his home in Chittering in December 2011.
25-year-old Frankie Parker of Nene Road, Ely, and 20-year-old Gary Smith, of no fixed address, were both arrested.
Mr Parker will appear before magistrates in Cambridge on Wednesday. Mr Smith will appear on 14 February.
It is believed the murder was part of a burglary attempt at night between 17 and 18 December.
Chef Sentenced Over Dinner Party Murder
A chef from Glasgow who told a court how he murdered his partner because she had eaten before a planned dinner party has been jailed for life.
58-year-old Peter Cumming stabbed 63-year-old Lynda Brown four times in the back at their home in Shawlands on 1 September 2012.
Mr Cumming holds previous convictions for domestic abuse towards Ms Brown.
He pleaded guilty to murder.
Cumming will serve a minimum of 14 years in prison.
The incident occurred when Cumming was planning a dinner party for friends. When he returned from buying ingredients, Ms Brown told him she had already eaten and was no longer hungry.

Three Arrested In Connection With Murdered Teenager
Police investigating the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old in Liverpool on Saturday have arrested two men and a woman. Teenager Kevin Wilson was shot in the back in Wavertree on Saturday, in what police described as a "targeted attack". Police have arrested a 54-year-old man from Toxteth, and a man and woman from Kensington, both aged 37.

A 26-year-old man has been remanded in custody in connection with the murder of an 84-year-old woman and the stabbing of a 9-year-old boy. The attacks took place in Shipley, West Yorkshire on Monday. 84-year-old Louisa Denby was found murdered at her home by police investigating an attack on a 9-year-old boy at a skate park.

The body of Stefan Welch, 37, was found between the 17th and 18th holes at the Dyke Golf club on Saturday. A post-mortem revealed that he probably died from a blow to the head.

Six Arrested Over Nottingham Street Brawl Death
Police investigating the death of a 19-year-old man in Nottingham have arrested six people. Joshua Bradley, of Bulwell, died following a suspected street fight in Thurland Street, on 08 February. Two men, aged 21 and 19, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
