Five Missing Hill-Walkers Found
Police have safely located five of the missing six hill walkers who had not been seen since yesterday.
Once contact had been made with the group it was established that one person was still outstanding from the party of six.
The five were located on a hill near Carn Tarsuinn in the Cairngorms by Braemar Mountain Rescue Team at around 12:10pm today.
Shortly afterwards the body of a male was recovered in the Jacob's Ladder area of the Cairngorms. There has been no formal identification at this time, however, there are currently no other outstanding missing people in the area.
No further details will be issued until all next of kin have been informed.
The five walkers are safe and not injured and have been taken by helicopter to the Aviemore area. Police inquiries into the incident are continuing.
The walkers were part of a large group of 35 people who were visiting the Highlands. They are either from or connected to Leeds University.

2,000 extra deaths recorded during August heat wave
The Office of National Statistics (ONS) has reported that, during the recent heat wave, there were more than 2,000 deaths over and above the monthly average. On each of the 10 days from August 4 to August 13, estimated numbers of deaths in England and Wales were above average for those days over the last five years.

Eleven Rescued From Flats Fire In London
Eleven people, including five children, were rescued from a fire at a block of flats in Enfield. Emergency services were called to the flats on South Street at about 18:40 on Thursday night. London Fire Brigade said five engines and 31 firefighters responded to the fire, which was well established when they arrived.

Hunt For April Jones Continues
The search for missing five year old April Jones is set to continue. Dyfed-Powys Police have not set an end date for the operation but will scale back the search over Christmas. Superintendent Ian John said police have been hunting for April since she was last seen in Machynlleth, Powys, on 1 October, near her Welsh home.

Police Search Scrubland In Madeline McCann Inquiry
Police investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann have sealed off a large area of scrubland in the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz, where the three-year-old vanished seven years ago. A team of Portuguese police officers, some with dogs, and at least four vehicles have been stationed on a mound to the west of the town.
