Suspended Sentence For Man Who Left Pigs Head At Muslim Centre
A man who left a severed pig’s head outside a Muslim community centre on Boxing Day has avoided jail.
24-year-old Liam Ferrar received a 12-week sentence, which was suspended for a year. The court heard that Mr Ferrar was disgusted by his actions and had written a letter of apology to his victims.
Ferrar, of Leicester, pleaded guilty last month to causing religiously aggravated harassment after leaving the frozen pig's head on the steps of the city's Thurnby Lodge community centre.
Ferrar was also ordered to complete 250 hours of unpaid community work and to pay £85 in costs.
