Pryce Jury Fail To Reach verdict
The jury in the trial of Vicky Pryce, Chris Huhne’s ex-wife, have failed to reach a verdict in her trial at Southwark crown court.
Pryce is charged with perverting the course of justice by taking speeding points for Huhne.
The jury have now been dismissed and Pryce will face a retrial.
37 More HMV Stores To Close
37 more HMV stores are to close with the loss of a further 464 jobs, administrators Deloitte have said.
The new closures are on top of the already announced 66 stores closed stores.
HMV currently has 219 stores in the UK, so the latest move means almost half its branches in the UK will be closed.
Prince Philip Jokes With Filipino Nurse Her Country Must Be ‘Half Empty”
During a royal visit to Luton and Dunstable Hospital, 91-year-old Prince Philip has been reported as joking with a Filipino nurse that, "The Philippines must be half empty - you're all here running the NHS,"
Unveiling a £5.5m cardiac centre the Duke of Edinburgh was said to be in a jovial mood, asking when the hospital would get a helipad to save him a journey by car.
A spokesperson for the hospital said the visit of the duke had been "hugely motivational".

Doncaster Tesco Drivers To Strike For 48 hours
More than 180 drivers at the Tesco distribution centre in Doncaster will strike for 48 hours next week, disrupting supplies to Tesco stores across the region. The strike will start at 00:05 on Tuesday 9 October and will end at 00:05 on Thursday 11 October and will cause havoc in supplying the Tesco stores in the Yorkshire and Humber region.

Sluggish retail sales growth peaks in June
The latest figures from the Office for National Statistics have revealed that in June the underlying rate of growth in retail sales volumes was the highest so far this year. However, the annual growth has remained the lowest for more than six years, according to data released today by the ONS.

People over the age of 65 will be eligible to take part in jury service from tomorrow as key changes to modernise Scots law come into force. Since 1980, an upper age limit for jury duty has been imposed in Scotland which has prohibited those over the age of 65 from serving.
