Transport And Schools Hit By Severe Weather
Schools and transport systems across the UK have been disrupted by heavy overnight snow.
The south-west of England is also badly affected with flooding following heavy rainfall, with 15 flood warning currently in place.
Around the UK more than 1,000 schools are closed and in Northern Ireland some 50,000 properties are without power.
Heavy snow is expected to continue into Saturday and Sunday.
As well as setting flood warnings, which mean "flooding is expected, immediate action required," in the South West, the Environment Agency also has 76 flood alerts, meaning "flooding is possible, be prepared," across England.
"We strongly urge people to sign up to flood warnings on the Environment Agency website, keep a close eye on local weather forecasts and be prepared for possible flooding," an Environment Agency spokesperson has said.
