Study Finds No Link Between TV And Bad Behaviour

A study of some 11,000 primary school pupils has found that there is no link between watching hours of TV or playing video games, and bad behaviour.

The Medical Research Council (MRC) team who carried out the study says it is wrong to link bad behaviour to TV viewing.

Researchers did find a small correlation between the two, but they say other influences, such as parenting styles, most probably explain the link.

However, despite the results they do still caution parents to "limit screen time", adding that the cautionary advice is because spending lots of time in front of the TV every day might reduce how much time a child spends doing other important activities such as playing with friends and doing homework.
