Sun Deputy Editor Remanded On Unconditional Bail
The deputy editor of The Sun newspaper has been remanded on unconditional bail, after appearing at the Old Bailey today.
Mr Webster, 53, from Goudhurst, graces two counts of misconduct in public office.
He is accused of authorising payments to public officials in exchange for information.
He is due to reappear at a hearing on 6th June.
Mr Webster was arrested as part of the Met Police's Operation Elveden investigation.

Uncle pleads guilty to owning killer dog
The uncle of a five-year-old girl who was mauled to death by a pit bull terrier has pleaded guilty to owning a dangerous dog. Ellie Lawrenson died after being attacked by the dog at her grandmother, Jacqueline Simpson's home in St Helens, Merseyside, in the early hours of New Year's Day. She suffered fatal head and neck injuries in the attack.

Arrests Made Following Football Violence
Two men have been arrested in connection with violence during the FA Cup semi-final held at Wembley Stadium on Saturday. Fourteen people were arrested, twelve of which were identified as Millwall fans and two as Wigan supporters.

Wikileaks Founder Granted Bail
The founder of whistle-blowing website Wikileaks has been granted bail in London. Julian Assange, 39, will however remain in custody as prosecutors have two hours to lodge an appeal. The Australian is currently fighting extradition to Sweden, where he is accused of sexually assaulting two women.

Doherty's Court Hearing Adjourned
Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty's court hearing has been postponed until 26 October. The adjournment was the decision of the court, and is not based on any request from Doherty or his associates. It is believed the hearing has been delayed so that the singer can spend more time trying to kick his drug habit.
