18 Arrested On Suspicion Of Smuggling Immigrants
The Home Office have revealed that 18 people have been arrested on Britain and France, suspected of smuggling illegal immigrants into the UK.
According to the BBC, Kent police and immigration enforcement officers carried out simultaneous raids on addresses in London, Luton and Essex at around 05:00.
Properties in France and Germany were also raided.
The Home Office said 11 people were held in England, and seven in France.
Motorist Investigated After Twitter Post About Knocking Over Cyclist
Norwich police are investigating a driver who tweeted about knocking “a cyclist off his bike”.
On Sunday, Emma Way posted on Twitter:: "Definitely knocked a cyclist off his bike earlier - I have right of way he doesn't even pay road tax #bloodycyclists."
A number of people then alerted police to her message, who replied saying: “we have had tweets ref an RTC [road traffic collision] with a bike. We suggest you report it at a police station ASAP if not done already & then dm [direct message] us."
It is understood that Norwich police have since spoken to Way and the victim, Tom Hockley, and are making further enquiries.
PM And Deputy Say Coalition Will Last
The prime minister has said that coalition government will remain until the 2015 elections.
His comments come after weeks of “damaging rows”, according to the BBC.
Cameron went on to say that they would focus exclusively on "big picture" issues such as the economy from now on.
His message was echoed by deputy prime minister Nick Clegg who said he "could not envisage any circumstances" in which there would be an early election.

British Man Dies In Dubai Police Custody
A British man has died in police custody in Dubai. Lee Bradley Brown, 39, from east London, died on Tuesday after he was taken to a Dubai police station where he was allegedly assaulted and put into a cell. It has been reported that Mr Brown, was arrested over a row at the luxury hotel Burj Al Arab hotel.

A major police hunt has begun after a five-year-old boy with a brain tumour, was taken by his family without consent from Southampton General Hospital. Police said that Ashya King was taken from the hospital by Brett King, 51, and Naghemeh King, 45, on Thursday. It is thought he may have been taken to France.
