British Man Dies In Alaska Rafting Accident
A British man is reported to have died during a white-water rafting accident in Alaska.
The man died just days after he was said to have scaled America's tallest mountain, Sky News has said.
The man, being named as 47-year-old Stephen Morton is understood to have fallen from a boat while exploring Six Mile Creek near Hope, Alaska. It is thought he was part of a 10-man team.
Mr Morton, who is from Cambridge, was unconscious and not breathing when other members of the team pulled him from the water on Tuesday.
He was revived by paramedics and airlifted to hospital in Anchorage where he died overnight.
His body has been sent to the State Examiner's Office for a post-mortem.
KTUU, a television station based in Anchorage, quoted from an email said to have been from the deceased man's wife, Vanessa Langlois.
It read: "We are (devastated).
"He phoned before he left for the rafting trip. He was so happy to have (summited) Denali safely and was so happy to be coming home, talking about the gifts he was about to buy for the kids."
An Alaska State Troopers spokesman said the raft Mr Morton was travelling in when it capsized, throwing everyone overboard, was operated by NOVA River Runners.
A spokesman for the Foreign Office said it is aware of Mr Morton's death and was providing consular assistance to the family.

Police Dig Up Pub Patio In Search For Missing Landlady
Police investigating the disappearance of a landlady in Cambridgeshire in 1997 are digging up the patio of her former pub. Deborah Steel, 37, was landlady of the Royal Standard in Ely, Cambridgeshire, when she disappeared on 28 December 1997. Police have said that Ms Steel's disappearance is now being treated as a murder investigation.

Second Man Arrested After Man Is Seriously Injured In Wolverhampton
Police investigating a disturbance outside a Wolverhampton pub that saw a car veer into a crowd of people, leaving one man seriously hurt, have arrested a second man. Officers were called to reports of a disorder outside The Rookery Tavern in Wood Street at 7.30pm Sunday 4th May.

Wanted Man Arrested In London
The man wanted in connection with the murder of a 66-year-old man who intervened during a robbery, has been arrested. Ian John McLoughlin, 55, was arrested in London at around 01:00. He was wanted on suspicion of murder and robbery. Airports and ports had been put on alert as police hinted for McLoughlin.
