Mother Jailed For Throwing Baby Down Rubbish Chute
A mother who threw her newborn baby 40ft down a rubbish chute has been jailed for two and a half years at Birmingham Crown Court.
25-year-old Jaymin Abdulrahman threw her six-day old daughter down the rubbish chute of a block of flats in Wolverhampton.
She was found guilty of inflicting grievous bodily harm.
The baby girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, suffered skull fractures and brain injuries from falling into a bin store at the bottom of the chute.
It is understood that Ms Abdulrahman was suffering from post-natal psychosis at the time of the incident, and the judge noted that she would have to live with what she had done for the rest of her life.
