Wife Of Child Abductor Launches Divorce Proceedings
The sister of Jeremy Forrest, the man who was found guilty for abducting a 15-year-old schoolgirl, has confirmed that his wife has filed for divorce.
In an interview with ITV's Daybreak programme, Carrie Hanspaul, 33, said: "Divorce proceedings are going through, which she initiated."
Forrest was jailed for five-and-a-half years for child abduction and five charges of sexual activity with a child.
He fled to France with the girl when she was 15 years old.
Ms Hanspaul also confirmed that Forrest still loved the schoolgirl and she still loved him.

The maths teacher who took a 15-year-old pupil he was having a sexual relationship with to France, has been jailed for five and a half years. 30-year-old Jeremy Forrest was convicted of child abduction at Lewes Crown Court on Thursday. The married teacher offered no evidence during his eight-day trial, according to the BBC.

More people are calling the NSPCC Helpline about serious child abuse since the death of Baby Peter two years ago. Between April 2008 and March 2009, the 24-hour freephone service passed on 11,243 suspected child protection cases to police or social services - an increase of more than a third over two years.
