Man Appears In Court Charged With Double Murder
A man has appeared before a district judge charged with murdering a woman and her baby.
Wesley John Williams, 28, was charged with the murders of Yvonne Walsh, 25, and her seven-month-old son Harrison.
Williams from Birmingham spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address.
Both victims were found at their house in Chells Grove on 2nd June. They died as a result of pressure to the neck.
Williams has been remanded in custody.
Hayley Firman, Head of the West Midlands CPS Public Protection Unit, said: "I have advised officers from West Midlands Police that there is sufficient evidence and that it is in the public interest to charge Wesley Williams with the murders of Yvonne Walsh and her seven month old son, Harrison Walsh.
"The decision was taken in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors.
"The defendant will appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on 26 June 2013
"Wesley Williams now stands charged with a criminal offence and has the right to a fair trial. It is extremely important that nothing should be reported which could prejudice this trial."

23 Charged With Drug Offences Following Raids
More than 20 people have been charged with drug offences following a number of raids carried out in London, Gravesend, Dover and Deal. A total of 23 people were arrested during twenty raids carried out over three days. The suspects, ranging in age from 17 to 52, have all been charged in connection with the supply of class A drugs.

A 27-year-old man has been found guilty at the Old Bailey of murdering teenager Wesley Sterling at a 16th birthday party. Carleto Salmons, from Thornton Heath, was attending his girlfriend’s son’s birthday party, when he stabbed 16 year-old Wesley through the heart.

Mobile provide EE is to refund around £1m to a number of customers wrongly charged VAT between October 2012 and October 2014. It is understood that EE customers who travelled outside the EU during those dates and used internet data were affected by the charges. The company estimated it as being about 0.5% of its customers.

A 34-year-old man has been appeared before Harrogate Magistrates Court this morning charged with the murders of four people in north Yorkshire. Mark Hobson has been charged with the murders of 27-year-old twins, Claire and Diane Sanderson. He is accused of killing his girlfriend Claire Sanderson on July 7, and her sister Diane on July 17.
