Experts Sent In To Oversee Hospital Reforms
The government have announced special measures are being taken against 11 hospitals over "major failings".
The hospitals were among 14 investigated over high death rates, with health secretary Jeremy Hunt saying that the 11 highlightes had "problems so entrenched that tough action was needed."
Staffing problems, poor care and weak leadership were all cited as reasons as he announced the move in Parliament.
The three remaining hospitals have been told to make improvements but that investigators "had confidence" in the leadership to implement the recommendations.
Teams of experts will now be sent in to the remaining 11 hospitals to work alongside the senior management.
