Eleven Arrested Over Care Home Death
Eleven people have been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter, following the death of an 86-year-old woman who had been living at a care home in Nottingham.
Ivy Atkin died on 22 November 2012, shortly after she moved out of Autumn Grange care home in Sherwood Rise.
Nottinghamshire police said five men aged 77, 44, 64, 56 and 37, and six women aged 52, 25, 19, 29, 20 and 28, have been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter as part of an inquiry into the standard of care provided at the home.
The eleven people are being questioned by detectives.
Police are working closely with partner agencies to establish if any criminal offences took place.

Improvement needed in care homes information, study claims
Older people should have access to a ‘one-stop-shop’ providing information on care home provision, the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has recommended. The OFT also said that care home residents should have better access to complaints procedures and be provided with greater price transparency and fairer contract terms.

Woman Arrested Over Death Of Care Home Resident
North Yorkshire Police have arrested a 53-year-old woman in connection with the death of a care home resident in Thirsk. The body of an 81-year-old resident at Sowerby House was found in his room on Thursday. Police said that Heather Pauline Davidson, of Sowerby, has been charged with murder.
