Met Appeal Over Mental Health Patient

The Metropolitan Police are appealing to the public for information following the disappearance of a man from the John Howard Centre, a secure mental health unit in Kenworthy Road, Homerton.

James Frank Lisbon, 34, went missing on Sunday 4 August after failing to return from unescorted leave.

He is described as white, 6ft tall of large build. He was last seen wearing a navy blue short sleeved top, navy tracksuit bottoms and a white baseball cap. He has scars on both arms and a tattoo on his right arm.

Police are warning members of the public not to approach the man, believed to be in the east London area.

Anyone with any information is requested to dial 999.

Man Sentenced Over Mobile Phone Robbery

A man from Wolverhampton has received a five-year jail term after he punched a man, knocking him unconscious, and stole his phone.

Junior Desmond McFarlane aged 31 from Regent Street, Wolverhampton was found guilty of robbery at Wolverhampton Crown Court yesterday and sentenced to five years and two months imprisonment.

Mr McFarlane attacked the 35-year-old male victim outside the Gorgeous Bar in School Street on February 2 this year.

The victim lost consciousness and McFarlane stole the mobile phone before running off.

Officers investigated the robbery and examined CCTV before arresting McFarlane on February 11 and charging him with the offence.

Girl Saved From Salford Canal

A 15-year-old-girl has been rescued from a canal in Salford.

The incident began at about 16:45 on Saturday 10 August 2013 when a group of teenagers were swimming in the canal near Media City.

One of the girls swam out too far and came into difficulty. Her friends came to her rescue and pulled her out of the water.

A passing off duty fire officer saw the friends by the canal side and administered first aid.

The man stayed with them until officers arrived.

Appeal Over Dundee City Centre Incident

Police in Dundee are appealing for information following an incident in South Ward Road outside Fat Sam’s nightclub in the city at about 02:30 in the early hours of Thursday morning.

An estimated group of about 40 men were gathered in the street and, as a result of their presence and behaviour, in excess of 20 police officers attended at the scene. The crowd were dispersed within about 15 minutes.

Four males - aged 16, 17, 19 and 22-years-old - have been arrested and charged with a breach of the peace and are expected to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court today.

Man Arrested Over Manchester Murder
Police investigating the murder of a 25-year-old man in Manchester last week have arrested a 70-year-old man. Craig Douglas was walking along Canal Street in the city last Monday evening with another man, when they were involved in an argument with two other men. Mr Douglas was then stabbed in the neck with a small knife.

Police Hunt Man For McFarlane Murder
Police are hunting for a man in connection with the murder of Kevin McFarlane in east London. Delano Forbes, 35, of Jamaican origin has been named as a suspect. The victim, aged 27, was found with stab wounds to his head and upper body in Plaistow Road on 8 February. Mr McFarlane was taken to hospital but died from his injuries on 10 February.

Pensioner Charged With Manchester Murder
A 70-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a 25-year-old man in Manchester last week. David Broady, from Victoria Square in Manchester, has been charged with the murder of Craig Douglas and is due to appear before magistrates this morning.

Man Sought In Manchester Murder
Police have appealed for information about a 70-year-old man they wish to speak to in connection with a fatal stabbing in Manchester. Police have appealed for David Broady, or anyone who knows of his whereabouts, to contact them.

British Man Dies In Dubai Police Custody
A British man has died in police custody in Dubai. Lee Bradley Brown, 39, from east London, died on Tuesday after he was taken to a Dubai police station where he was allegedly assaulted and put into a cell. It has been reported that Mr Brown, was arrested over a row at the luxury hotel Burj Al Arab hotel.
