Pair Rescued From Burning Boat In East Yorkshire
Two people have been rescued after their boat caught fire while on the River Ouse in East Yorkshire.
Lifeboat volunteers rescued the pair after they abandoned the burning vessel, which was reported as "floating freely" Blacktoft towards Reedness, East Yorkshire.
It is understood that fire crews tackled the fire from the shore and there were no reports of any injuries.
Speaking about the incident, Martin Rumford, coxswain at Humber Rescue, said: "This incident serves as an illustration as to how quickly things can escalate, leaving crew members with no option but to abandon their vessel.
"We cannot emphasise enough the need to make sure that all of your safety and communication equipment is checked and working before setting out on a journey."
