Cousins Become World's Youngest Formation Wing-Walkers

Two cousins have become the world's youngest formation wing-walkers, at just nine-years-old.

Rose Powell and Flame Brewer performed the feat at RAF Rendcomb in Gloucestershire, with one of the planes flown by Flames' grandfather, Vic Norman.

In 2009, Flame's brother Tiger became the youngest to wing-walk with his grandfather at eight years of age.

Opera Singer Richard Angas Dies Aged 71

Opera singer Richard Angas has died aged of 71.

Mr Angas collapsed during rehearsals for Opera North's production of Benjamin Britten's Peter Grimes in Leeds on Tuesday.

He died later in hospital.

He was a principal bass with English National Opera (ENO) for 15 years.

Swan Killed And Cooked At Windsor

Police have confirmed reports that a swan discovered at Windsor on Sunday had been cooked and eaten.

The remains of the bird were found on Sunday afternoon at Baths Island.

Swan Lifeline, a charity that was called to remove the carcass, said that the find had been a "horrific sight".

They speculated that it looked as if the bird had been skinned and cooked on site, "possibly on a disposable barbecue".

Boy Who Murdered Mum Inspired By Soap Opera
A court has been told that a teenager who beat his mother to death with a hammer before setting fire to their home was inspired by a plot in Coronation Street. Daniel Bartlam, then aged 14, struck his mother Jacqueline Bartlam,47, with a claw hammer seven times after watching the soap's character John Stape kill his victim in a similar manner.

Opera Singer Pavarotti Dies
World famous opera singer Luciano Pavarotti has died at the age of 71. Pavarotti was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year and underwent five bouts of chemotherapy. He was admitted to hospital, suffering from a fever, on August 8, although he was released two weeks later after undergoing diagnostic tests.

Malala Yousafzai Youngest Ever Recipient Of Nobel Peace Prize
Malala Yousafzai has become the youngest ever recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. Malala, who was shot in the head by the Taliban while campaigning for girls' education, jointly won the award with 60-year-old Kailash Satyarthi, an Indian child rights campaigner.

Youngest Elected County Councillor Resigns Over Drug Arrest
A 21-year-old Councillor in Herefordshire is to resign after receiving a police caution for possession of drugs. Alex Hempton-Smith was elected in 2011 to the Tupsley Ward of Herefordshire, making him the youngest county Councillor to be elected.
