Two More Mobile Phone Companies Roll Out 4G Service
4G data services have been launched in London, Bradford and Leeds as O2 and Vodafone join EE in offering the new, faster, mobile service.
EE launched their 4G service in October last year, resulting in claims by other mobile phone companies that EE had been given an unfair advantage.
From today, Vodafone will offer the new service in select parts of London, while O2 will offer their in London, Leeds and Bradford, ahead of wider availability later in the year.
It is claimed that 4G data service can offer smartphones users 10x the data speed of 3G.
O2 expect to offer 4G in 10 cities by the end of 3013, with Vodafone saying that there service will be available in 12 cities across the UK by year end.
Three have said they will offer 4G to their customers in 50 cities by the end of 2014.

4G services will be available to Vodafone customers in London from August 29, the mobile provider has announced. Following this the service will be rolled in Manchester, Leeds and Sheffield by the end of 2013. The company has said the prices for a SIM only deal will begin as £26 per-month, on a 12-month contract.

The BBC Trust’s decision to approve proposals for a Gaelic Digital Service has been welcomed by Gaelic Media Service (GMS) and BBC Scotland. GMS and BBC Scotland will now begin the process of implementing their joint plans for the launch of the new service.
