British Couple Killed In US
A retired couple from Suffolk have been killed in a car crash in the US.
Paddy Heazell, 77, and his wife, 74-year-old Julyan, were travelling in New Hampshire on Sunday when their car hit a tree.
It is understood Mr Heazell's brother Gareth and his wife Pamela were also in the car and they are being treated in hospital.
The couple were regular volunteers with Aldeburgh Music, RSPB Minsmere, the Suffolk Wildlife Trust and the National Trust.
They are survived by their three children and one grandchild.
New 'Super-School' Forced To Close
A new super-school has had to close for emergency maintenance work – just three days after it opened for the first time.
Eastern High School in Cardiff welcomed its first pupils on Monday, but on Wednesday evening, parents received a text message to say the school had to close.
It added that it was working to re-open the site as soon as possible.
On the school's website, a statement reads: "We are sorry that Eastern High is closed tomorrow due to unforeseen emergency maintenance work. We apologise for the short notice and inconvenience. We will keep you updated and are working to open the school as soon as possible."
The super-school has around 1,500 pupils from the former Rumney and Llanrumney high schools.
Four In Hospital After Chimney Fire
Four people in the Scottish Borders have been taken to hospital after a fire broke out in a chimney.
They are understood to be suffering from the effects of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Firefighters were called to the scene at Law View in Preston where they found the fire to be caused by a blocked flue.
The people inside the property were taken to Borders General Hospital for treatment.

Plans Announced To Make Young People Work For Benefits
The Prime Minister has announced a proposal for 18 to 21-year-olds claiming benefits to do daily work experience. The proposed reform, known as Community Work Programme, would see young people not in work, education or training, required to complete daily work experience, alongside continuing to look for work in order to qualify for benefits.

£1bn Towards Free School Meals
£1bn is being unlocked to fund the Department of Education's free school meals commitment. The news, announced by deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, follows an announcement in September that every child in reception, year 1 and year 2 in state-funded schools will receive a free school lunch.
