Review Of NHS Policy On Wearing Of Face Veils
The Department of Health have announced that a review will be held into the wearing of face veils by NHS staff in England.
Following an investigation by the Daily Telegraph, which revealed that 17 hospitals have banned staff from wearing the veil, the General Medical Council have been asked to assess if there is enough face-to-face contact with patients.
Currently, there is no national guidance on the wearing of veils, with hospitals left to decide if they can be worn or not.
