Jury In Hamzah Khan Trial Considers Verdict
The jury in the trial of a mother accused of starving her four-year-old son to death is considering its verdict.
43-year-old Amanda Hutton is charged with manslaughter by gross negligence, a charge which she has denied.
The mummified body of Hamzah Khan was found in his cot at his home in Bradford, West Yorkshire, in September 2011, some 21 months after he had died.
During the two week trial, the court had heard that Hamzah had been fed a "grossly inadequate" diet and most probably died of malnutrition.
It was claimed that Hutton neglected her son as she was addicted to alcohol.
The jury has now retired to consider a verdict.
