Human Remains Found In Mansfield

An investigation is underway following the discovery of human remains in Mansfield.

The remains of two people, who have yet to be formally identified, were unearthed by police in the back garden of a house in Blenheim Close, Forest Town, on Thursday. They are believed to have been there for some time.

A post-mortem examination to establish cause of death is due to take place today.

Detectives were led to the property after information came in to the Force last week about an incident which is alleged to have taken place in the late 1990s.

The area is currently cordoned off.
