64-year-old Gof Smith, who has spent 15 years as a community first responder (CFR), was sacked after he was caught driving at 33mph in a 20 zone, which the South Central Ambulance Service described as "serious traffic offences".

Shipping Container Homes Arrive In Brighton

The first of 30 converted shipping containers, which will be used as housing for homeless people, have arrived in Brighton.

The first six containers are arriving at the car park on a former scrap metal yard in New England Road, with a further 30 due by the end of the week.

Brighton Housing Trust (BHT) said the converted containers would provide temporary homes for five years for 36 men and women.

The units were designed and built in Holland for a social housing project, which was halted due to a lack of funding.
