Nine Arrested Over Merseyside Cannabis Factory
Two teenagers and seven adults are to be charged in connection with a £2 million 'cannabis factory' uncovered in a former Merseyside sports bar.
Some 2,000 cannabis plants were discovered in the former bar on Rice Lane, Fazakerly on Sunday. Nine people were arrested in connection with the find.
Two boys aged 15 and 16 are to be charged alongside a 35-year-old woman, and six men aged, 46, 38, 35, 28, 28 and 21
Det Ch Supt Paul Richardson said it was "a large and sophisticated cannabis factory containing thousands of plants across eleven growing rooms".

'U-Turn' As Cannabis Reclassified To Class B
Cannabis has been reclassified as a Class B drug, it has been announced today. In making her decision The Home Secretary Jacqui Smith went against the advice of The Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs (ACMD), which wanted to keep it a Class C drug. The council has not been overruled for 30 years.
