Sports Coach Jailed For Rape Granted Right To Appeal
Stephen Benson, jailed for 16 years for the rape and sexual assault of young female athletes, has been granted permission to appeal his conviction.
51-year-old Stephen Benson, Copdock, Ipswich, was found guilty in May of 19 offences between 1989 and 2011.
Benson was a sports coach at Ipswich Harriers Athletics Club at the time of the offences. It was found that he had groomed his three victims while coaching them.
At the Royal Courts of Justice, he was granted permission to appeal against his conviction.

Schoolgirl killers win right to appeal
Two men jailed for the murder of Nottingham schoolgirl Danielle Beccan have been granted permission to challenge their convictions. Junior Andrews, 26, of no fixed address and Mark Kelly, 23, of the Meadows in Nottingham were found guilty of murder in October 2005 and jailed for life, with a recommended minimum term of 32 years.

Second appeal granted in Jill Dando murder case

Jodi killer set to appeal
The teenager convicted of the murder of schoolgirl Jodi Jones has been granted leave to appeal against the conviction. Luke Mitchell, who is now 17, was convicted of the 14-year-old's murder in January 2005. Jodi's body was found on a secluded woodland path in Dalkeith in June 2003.
