Hospital Staff Levels To Be Made Public
The staffing levels of hospitals in England are to be published each month and available for the public to see on a new national safety website from April next year.
The move will show how many nurses are working from ward to ward in hosiptals across England.
It is understood that there will be no national minimum staffing standard, but a recommended nurse-to-patient ratio for different types of wards may be introduced.
The publishing of staffing levels is part of the governments response to the Stafford Hospital scandal.
