Zoo Remained Open While Wolves Had Escaped

It has been revealed that five wolves escaped from their enclosure at Colchester Zoo on Tuesday morning but visitors to the zoo were told that the situation was a "medical emergency".

According to reports five of the six timber wolves kept at Colchester zoo escaped from their enclosure at around 07:30 am.

The zoo has not commented on the incident but according to reports, while a section of the zoo was cordoned-off, the rest of the site remained open.

Three of the five escaped wolves were shot.

Man Arrested Over Champions League Match Laser Light

A man has been arrested in connection with a laser light being shone on the pitch during Tuesday's Champions League match at Celtic Park.

Pictures from the game showed a green light on the face of AC Milan goalkeeper Christian Abbiati.

The 25-year-old is now the subject of a report to the procurator fiscal.

Jobs At Risk At HMRC Offices In Wales

Staff at four tax offices in Wales have been offered severance packages, raising concerns for the security of the nearly 260 employees.

Workers at offices in Carmarthen, Pembroke Dock, Merthyr Tydfil and Colwyn Bay are affected.

HRMC said an increasing number of its customers were choosing to do business online which was reducing the need for labour-intensive roles.

The jobs involved range from tax inspectors to port revenue officers.

Myleene 'Aghast' At Police Warning
Media personality Myleene Klass has been left "bemused" after receiving a police warning for brandishing a knife at garden intruders through a window. The former Hear'Say singer noticed teenagers entering her garden while she stood in her kitchen. Ms Klass banged the window to scare them off, while holding a knife.

Police arrest escaped prisoner
Police have arrested a convicted armed robber on suspicion of escaping from a prison van on his way back to jail last week. Craig Hickinbottom, 24, was arrested at a house in Smethwick in the West Midlands on Thursday.

Zoo And Director To Be Prosecuted Following Death Of Keeper
South Lakes Safari Zoo and its Director, David Gill, are to be prosecuted for breaches of health and safety law after a zoo keeper was fatally injured by a Sumatran tiger. Sarah McClay (24) died at the zoo in Dalton-in-Furness, south Cumbria on 24 May, 2013.

Animals Killed In Zoo Blaze
A number of animals have died after a fire broke out at a zoo near Edinburgh at the weekend. The blaze spread through the reptile house of the Five Sisters Zoo in West Lothian in the early hours of Sunday morning. At least two meerkats and an otter are among the animals killed, while nine further meerkats are missing and feared dead.

Ofsted Investigate Child Left At London Zoo
A four-year-old boy was left behind at London Zoo following a nursery school trip, according to a report by the BBC. It is understood that the child was reported missing last Wednesday afternoon following a trip to the zoo from a nursery in Borehamwood in Hertfordshire.
