Two Arrested Over Anti-Semitic Tweets
Two men who posted tweets referencing Hitler and the gas chambers after a Premier League football match on 6 October have been arrested.
A 24-year-old man from Croydon and a 22-year-old man from Wiltshire were arrested on Thursday on suspicion of inciting racial hatred.
Fans had been warned ahead of the Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham match that anyone caught behaving in a racist, anti-Semitic or homophobic way would be punished to the full extent of the law.
An investigation was launched by officers in Haringey after the Twitter messages were reported.
The arrests follow the arrest of a 55-year-old man in November who was cautioned for malicious communications after posting anti-Semitic tweets before the Spurs and West Ham match.
