Met Office Appears In Court Over 'Plebgate' Scandal
A 53-year-old police officer, accused of falsely claiming to have witnessed the "plebgate" incident, has appeared in court charged with misconduct in a public office.
According to reports, PC Keith Wallis, an officer with the Met's diplomatic protection group, did not enter a plea at Westminster Magistrates' Court, and will appear again on 03 January at Southwark Crown Court.
It is claimed that Mr Wallis sent an email to Conservative deputy chief whip John Randall, who was his MP, wrongly claiming that he had seen the "plebgate" incident in Downing Street, which took place on 19 September 2012.
