Men Charged Following Assault

Two men have been charged following an assault in Stow Hill, Newport.

During the early hours of New Years' Day, a 54-year-old man received injuries in the assault.

Gwent Police have now charged two men, aged 15 and 18, with assault.

They will appear before Newport Magistrates Court later this month.

Police Launch Murder Inquiry

Police have launched a murder inquiry following the death of a man in Derby.

At around 6.40am on Thursday (9 January), emergency services were called to Fieldsway Drive to reports of an injured man.

The 54-year-old, who has not been formally identified, was later pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem is due to be carried out.

Police have arrested a 37-year-old man on suspicion of murder.

Anyone with information or who saw anything suspicious in Fieldsway Drive or the surrounding area this morning to call them on 101 or to contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Girl, 3, Critical Following Collision

A three-year-old girl is in hospital following a collision with a vehicle on Heol Trimsaran, Trimsaran.

Police have said her condition is described as critical.

The collision occurred at 11.50am on Thursday. A road closure remains in place.

Anyone who was in the area at the relevant time and who has information which could help police with their inquiries is asked to contact officers on 101.

Renewed Appeal For Missing Man

Lincolnshire Police have appealed for information on the whereabouts of missing person Ryan Morgan.

Mr Morgan, 28, who has an address at Doughty's Court went missing from the Peter Hodgkinson Centre at Lincoln County Hospital in Greetwell Road, Lincoln, on 27 December.

Concern is increasing for his safety.

Due to Mr Morgan's lack of money and suitable clothing, it is thought he may have taken shelter in a shed, garage or out building in the area. Officers are asking people in Lincoln, particularly those in the north of the city, to check their properties to see if Mr Morgan is there.

Mr Morgan is described as black, around 6ft tall and of medium to stocky build. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, a light coloured sweatshirt, black jeans and black trainers.

Anyone with any information on Mr Morgan's whereabouts is asked to contact police on 101.

British Man Dies In Dubai Police Custody
A British man has died in police custody in Dubai. Lee Bradley Brown, 39, from east London, died on Tuesday after he was taken to a Dubai police station where he was allegedly assaulted and put into a cell. It has been reported that Mr Brown, was arrested over a row at the luxury hotel Burj Al Arab hotel.

Man Arrested Over Kent Doctor's Murder
A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a doctor in Kent. Consultant paediatrician Dr Victoria Anyetei, 54, was found in her car in the driveway of her home in Dartford on August 14. She had been stabbed to death. Kent Police said that the man was arrested on suspicion of murder at an address in Dartford.

Investigation Launched Into Hotel Body Find
A murder investigation has been launched following the discovery of a woman's body in a Hull hotel room. Police said they were called to the Ibis hotel on Osborne Street at 13:00 on Sunday, where they discovered the body of a woman. She is yet t be identified.

PC Ian Dibell Posthumously Wins Bravery Award
A national police bravery award has been posthumously awarded to PC Ian Dibell (41), who was killed when he tackled a gunman in the street near his home. Mr Dibell died while trying to disarm Peter Reeve, who had opened fire on a couple in Clacton, Essex, in July last year.

Multiple Fatalities In Leicestershire Crash
Six people have died in a collision between a car and a lorry in Leicestershire, police have confirmed. The A607 near Melton Mowbray was closed in both directions following the crash. Police were called to the scene of the collision about a mile south of the town centre at 1.55am on Thursday.
