'Golden Egg' To Be Demolished

The derelict Golden Egg building in Kings Square, Gloucester, is to be demolished after ten years of lying empty.

The former restaurant is being levelled as part of a regeneration of the surrounding shopping area.

The city council bought the building in December, after what was described as months of negotiation with former owner Aviva Investors.

'Devastating Damage' Will Keep Railway Line Closed For Months

Network Rail have announced that tidal storm damage may close the Cambrian Coast for up to four months.

Flood damage between Tywyn, Barmouth and Criccieth has closed the line between Dovey Junction and Pwllheli in Gwynedd due to flood damage at Tywyn, Barmouth and Criccieth.

An aerial survey has shown that the north bound line suffered "devastating damage", however the company said the south bound line is expected to be operational again by 10 February.

Men Arrested Over Online Racist Comments

Two men have been arrested over racist comments posted on Twitter and Facebook in connection with the disappearance of Mikaeel Kular.

Members of the public brought the comments to the attention of the Police Scotland.

The two men, aged 19 and 26, have been arrested, questioned and bailed, police have said.

Man Arrested Over 1995 Murder
Police investigating a 14-year-old murder case have arrested a man on suspicion of her murder. Vikki Thompson, a 30-year-old mother-of-two from Ascott-under-Wynchwood, Oxfordshire, was found badly beaten and unconscious by the side of a railway line near her home on August 12, 1995.
