Parents Admit Mansluahter Of Five-Month-old

The parents of a five-month-old boy have admitted manslaughter after the child died from acute rickets.

36-year-old Nkosiyapha Kunene, of Erith, south-east London, and his wife 32-year-old Virginia, admitted manslaughter in connection with the death of Ndingeko Kunene on 14 June 2012.

The couple are to be sentenced on 28 February.

Second Union Joins Tube Action

A second union has elected to join two upcoming 48-hour Tube strikes.

The Transport Salaried Staffs Association will join the Rail Maritime and Transport Union in protest of plans to close all London Underground tickets offices.

On 4 and 11 February staff will stop work at noon, with drivers not booking on for any shifts during the strike.

Bird Of Prey Missing In Yorkshire

A bird of prey with an 8ft wingspan is missing in the Yorkshire Dales.

Named Nikita, the Steller's sea eagle went missing on Saturday during training with trainer Chris O'Donnell.

North Yorkshire Police has warned people to keep their pets indoors until she has been found, but Mr O'Donnell said she was not dangerous.

IPCC Ask North Yorkshire Police For Savile Review
North Yorkshire Police has been asked to review “all relevant material” relating to contact its officers had with Jimmy Savile. According to the BBC, the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) is acting "in light of information received" and said it wanted to know whether there were "conduct matters that should be referred to us".

Police Have Shannon's Fingerprints
Police searching for missing schoolgirl Shannon Matthews have said that they have a full set of her fingerprints and a DNA profile of her. West Yorkshire Police said that they had built up a composite fingerprint from the nine-year-old's schoolbooks, items in her bedroom and other personal items, as well as the full DNA profile.

One of the UK's most wanted paedophiles - who was mistakenly released after first being arrested – is being urgently sought by police. South Yorkshire Police officers only realised who Joshua Karney was after he was fined for being drunk, and then released.

Alice Gross Police Appeal For Missing 41-Year-Old Builder
Police investigating the disappearance of 14-year-old Alice Gross have issued an appeal for information on the whereabouts of 41-year-old Arnis Zalkalns. Police say that Mr Zalkalns, a builder from Ealing, west London, has not been seen since 03 September.

Fallon released without charge in conspiracy probe
Sixteen people, including the champion jockey Keiren Fallon, who were arrested by City of London Police as part of a conspiracy to defraud probe have been released without charge. The detainees, who were questioned by police yesterday afternoon, have been bailed to appear at a London Police Station in two months time.
