West Sussex House Searched Following Syrian Bombing
A house is West Sussex is being searched by anti-terror police in connection with a suicide bombing in Syria, thought to have been carried out by a British man.
The investigation
South East Counter Terrorism Unit Police are conducting the search following the attack on a prison in the city of Aleppo, which lead to inmates of the jail escaping.
According to a report by the BBC, it is thought that hundreds of British nationals have gone to Syria to fight against government forces, and that this could be the first suicide bombing to be carried out by a Briton in the country.
Al-Nursa Front, described as an al-Qaeda-linked rebel group, named the man as Abu Suleiman al-Britani.
However, the BBC have said that this is likely an alias and the bombers true identity is likely to remain unknown as DNA evidence would be needed.
