Pinewood To Set Up New Studios In Cardiff
Pinewood Studios have announced that they will open a new facility in Cardiff at the former Energy Centre building in Wentloog.
First Minister Carwyn Jones and Pinewood Shepperton chief executive Ivan Dunleavy made the announcement.
The Welsh government hopes the 180,000 sq ft complex will generate an estimated £90m for the economy.
Mr Jones said: "This high-profile investment is of significant economic value to Wales while the partnership between the Welsh government and Pinewood offers a priceless opportunity to promote Wales as a world-class location for film and television production."
Pinewood and Shepperton Studios has created more than 1,500 films in more than 75 years.
The announcement has been welcomed by actor Michael Sheen who said that it was a great opportunity for Welsh talent.

The studios, home to Harry Potter and James Bond film productions, announced today that the shares had been launched at 180 pence each.

US Studio Signs Lease For Wales' Dragon Studios
The Welsh Government has confirmed it has assisted Fox 21 Television Studios to secure the lease for the long-time vacant Dragon Studios at Pencoed. The US-based firm will take over the studio for production of its historic television series The Bastard Executioner, from Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter.

'First Class' Halted By Welsh Secretary
The new Welsh Secretary of State has said she will no longer use first class rail travel. Cheryl Gillan revealed the change as she met Labour First Minister Carwyn Jones, Head of the Welsh Assembly Government, at his Cardiff Bay office. The Cardiff-born minister and her officials will also travel 2nd class.
