IRA Group Claim Responsibility For Letter Bombs And Warned Of Further Attacks



A group which used a recognised IRA code word has claimed responsibility for seven potentially explosive devices sent last week to armed forces recruitment centres and warned of further attacks.

A statement from the Metropolitan Police said they were aware of the claim of responsibility, which was received later by The Irish News.

The received statement said: "The IRA claims responsibility for the explosive devices that were sent to British armed forces recruitment centres in England".

"Attacks will continue when and where the IRA see fit."

Last Thursday the government had an emergency meeting after the string of potentially explosive devices were mailed to seven Army offices in the south-east England.

Rowan Cheshire Tweets Sochi Injuries

The 18-year-old skier and medal hopeful has tweeted a picture of her face after a fall at the Winter Olympics.

Ms Cheshire spent the night in the hospital with suspected concussion.

She was due to compete in the sky halfpipe on Thursday but it is unclear whether she will be fit enough to compete.

According to the Olympic News Service she fell heavily on her face and was unconscious for several minutes after falling.

The sports woman wrote on Twitter: "Wasn't the best day yesterday, still don't remember much! Thanks everyone for the lovely messages."

Rail Satisfaction Decrease Below 50%

Customer satisfaction levels with Britain's train services has dropped below 50% according to a Which? survey of more than 7,415 passengers.

The most common complaint was the ticket prices, with 8 in 10 people saying they were to high.

Other complaints were delays, having to stand, and poor toilet facilities.

Of the 19 investigated train companies 11 had costumer satisfaction rates under 50%. Merseyrail was the best-performing company at 70%.

Anarchist Group Claim Responsibility For Police Centre Fire
Police are investigation claims made online by an anarchist group saying that they were responsible for a fire at a new police firearms training centre in Somerset. A group calling itself Angry Foxes Cell posted on the Bristol Indymedia website that its members had targeted the under construction site at the Black Rock centre in Portishead.
