Police Seize Dog After Newborn Baby Death
Dyfed-Powys Police have seized a family dog in South Wales after the death of a six-day-old-baby-girl.
Officers were called to the property in Pontyberem, Carmarthenshire at around 8:30 on Tuesday.
The animal, an Alaskan Malamute, is similar to a husky and is not a banned bread.
They were originally bred as sled dogs for work in the Arctic, but are now popular as family pets.
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "We sent a paramedic in a rapid response vehicle, an emergency ambulance and the Helimed helicopter to the scene, and a baby was airlifted to the University Hospital of Wales."
