Woman Jailed For Microwaving Kitten

A woman has been jailed for 14 weeks for microwaving her pet kitten.

23-year-old Laura Cunliffe, of Hoyland, near Barnsley, killed the kitten because she thought it had "attacked her goldfish", according to reports.

It is understood that Cunliffe put the kitten in the microwave before turning it on for five minutes. She then took the kitten out after around a minute. It died a short time later.

She admitted causing unnecessary suffering to an animal.

Appeal Launched After Baby's Sleepsuit Found

Police in Scotland have issued an appeal after an item of baby's clothing was found on a path in Fort William.

Police Scotland say that a sleepsuit was found at 08:15 on Wednesday morning, leading to a search at Plantation Path.

According to the BBC, police have refused to comment on an earlier report that said the clothing was bloodstained.

Memorial Service Held For Sir David Frost

A memorial service has been held for Sir David Frost at Westminster Abbey.

Some 2,000 people join leading figures from politics and showbusiness, for the tribute to the broadcaster, who died in August last year.

Sir David's widow, Lady Carina Fitzalan-Howard, and the Prince of Wales laid flowers on a dedicated memorial stone in Poets' Corner, and Sir Davids three sons took part in the service, reading poems and prayers.

Funeral Held For Sir David Frost
Family and close friends of broadcaster and writer, Sir David Frost, have attended his funeral. The service was held at the Holy Trinity Church in Nuffield, Oxfordshire. Among those in attendance, was Sir Michael Parkinson, Ronnie Corbett and Stephen Fry.
