Thieves Dig Tunnel To Rob Cash Machine

Greater Manchester Police have reported the discovery of a 50ft long tunnel used to steal a "significant amount" of money from a Salford cash machine.

According to police, the theft took place on Friday 14 March at Tesco on Liverpool Road, Eccles, at some time between midnight and 6am.

It is understood that a tunnel was created under wasteland and into the supermarket. Police say the tunnel was dug the same night as the money was taken.

Police have urged any one who say people acting suspiciously, or possibly covered in soil, to contact them.
