Food Waste Power Plant To Be Ready By Summer
Power generated by food waste could be in use by the summer, with the opening of the new Waen AD (anaerobic digestion) recycling plant.
The £7.5m plant near St Asaph, will take waste from Flintshire, Conwy and Denbighshire, with the capacity to process 22,500 tonnes of food per year and power up to 1,500 homes.
Biogen, who are building the facility, have said the plant is expected to be fully operation by the summer.

SSE To Close Ferrybridge Power Station
SSE has confirmed it is to close Ferrybridge Power Station. The energy provider said it had taken the "difficult decision" following a comprehensive review of its coal-fired power stations. The facility will close by 31 March 2016.

A new nuclear power plant to be built in Somerset has been given the go-ahead, marking the beginning of a ‘new generation of nuclear power’. Energy Secretary Ed Davey told MPs in the Commons that he was granting planning consent for French energy giant EDF to construct Hinkley Point C in Somerset.
