Investigation Launched Following Burglary In Liverpool
Merseyside Police have confirmed an investigation is underway following an incident in Bootle last night, Thursday 1 May.
Patrols were called to a house on Southport Road at about 8.10pm following a report of a burglary.
A short while later officers received a report from a member of the public who had found a 31-year-old man suffering from what is believed to be stab wounds.
When officers attended, they found a man with serious injuries. He has been taken to hospital for treatment and is in a serious but stable condition.
A 66-year-old man has also been taken to hospital with breathing difficulties.
Crime Scene Investigators are in attendance and patrols have been stepped up to reassure the local community.
An investigation has been launched to determine the full circumstances surrounding these incidents and officers are working to establish whether, and if so how, they are linked.
Detectives are appealing for anyone with information to contact police.
Five Arrested In Tameside Raids
Five people have been arrested in Hyde as part of an operation into tackling organised crime.
They were arrested when officers from Greater Manchester Police raided six addresses in Hyde just after 7am on Thursday 1 May 2014, while Met Police officers simultaneously raided an address in Surrey.
More than 50 officers took part in Tameside Police's Operation Ordaz, which was orchestrated in response to an investigation into organised criminality in Tameside.
Officers have been investigating a possible plot by a network of people to pervert the course of justice in an ongoing criminal investigation.
The three men and two women who were arrested today have been linked to this continuing investigation.
Detective Constable Martyn Kendall: "The arrests are a result of months of careful planning from Operation Ordaz officers.
"We received allegations that people were attempting to corrupt the criminal justice system, using any means necessary to force a witness to change his testimony.
"We are sending out a message to anyone hoping to derail justice, by any means, will fail and be punished severely."
Two Men Arrested Following Incident In Grimsby
Two men have been arrested in Grimsby in connection with an incident at Spar Supermarket, Laceby Road, Grimsby.
A call was made to police reporting that two men had entered the Spar Supermarket and made an attempt to steal alcohol from the store.
Following a physical altercation with a member of staff in the store, the men then left. It is not known if anything was stolen.
A short time later, a call was made from an off-duty Lincolnshire Police Officer. He was reporting that two men had approached one of his relatives homes in an attempt to take money from them.
The elderly woman handed over a small amount of cash, in an attempt to make them leave the address.
The off-duty officer from Lincolnshire police, called Humberside police and then made an attempt to see if he could see the potential offenders. Upon searching, he located the two offenders in the grounds of Grimsby Institute and local officers attended and arrested the two men.
A 28-year-old man and a 49-year-old man have both been arrested in connection with both incidents. They remain in custody at Grimsby Police Station.

Eight Men Arrested Following Dawn Raids
Over 100 police officers have carried out a series of raids concerning child sexual exploitation offences in Oxford. Eight men were arrested following the raids at 6am this morning 2 June. Police are investigating approximately 60 offences in connection with the operation relating to female victims in Oxford between 1999 and 2007.

Woman Arrested At Heathrow On Terrorism Charges
A 25-year-old woman has been arrested at Heathrow Airport on suspicion of terrorism offences. It is understood that the woman was travelling with her one-year-old son when officers arrested her as she disembarked a flight from Turkey. Police said her charges relate to offences in Syria.

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice, West Midlands Police has confirmed. The arrests come after an investigation into false and malicious information given to the force on 8 December 2014. The information said that an officer was going to be kidnapped as part of a terrorist plot.
