Cannabis Plants Seized In Bristol

Police seized a number of suspected cannabis plants from a house in Severn Beach yesterday, 8th May.

Officers were patrolling in the area at about 2.30pm, in response to community concerns, when they came across three men acting suspiciously.

They found 70 small plants, believed to be cannabis, growing an upstairs room of the property and evidence of plants having been grown in other rooms.

Three men arrested at the scene remain in police custody.

Cilla Black To Be Honoured With Special Bafta Award

Singer and TV presenter Cilla Black, best known for hosting television shows Blind Date and Surprise Surprise, is to be honoured at the 2014 TV Baftas.

The 70-year-old said: "I am thrilled to be honoured with this award. I am totally delighted. I've been very fortunate to have a long and full career in television and this means the world to me."

She will collect the prize during the awards ceremony at the Theatre Royal in London on May 18.

Post Mortem Carried Out On Woman Following Fatal Fire

Merseyside Police have confirmed that a post mortem has been carried out on the adult female, who died in fire at a flat on Moscow Drive, Tuebrook, on Thursday morning..

The cause of death is still not known, and Post Mortem examinations are continuing. Work is ongoing to formally identify the woman and to contact next of kin.

A post mortem will be carried out to establish the cause of the death today and work is ongoing to identify the sex, age and identity of the child.

A joint investigation in to the cause of the fire at the flat is ongoing.

Baby Remains Found In Audenshaw House
Police in Greater Manchester are investigating the discovery of two babies whose remains were found in a box at a house in the Audenshaw area. It is understood the relative of an elderly woman who had recently died made the gruesome discovery when she was clearing the house on Rowcon Close on Thursday night.

Father And Son Found Dead In Dorset
The bodies of a father and his son have been found in a house in Dorset. The pair, who have been named locally as Chris Hall and his six-year-old son, also called Chris, was made at a house in Queens Road, Poole on Wednesday around 5.30pm. According to reports, the boy's mother found the bodies.

Two Charged Over Child's Death
A man and woman are due to appear in court today charged with the death of a four-year-old child. The 36-year-old man and 22-year-old woman from the Tyseley area of Birmingham, are due to appear at the city's magistrates' court charged with killing a four-year-old child through gross neglect, in April.
