Man Seriously Assaulted In Somerset
Police have launched an investigation following a serious assault on a 20-year-old man in Bridgwater, Somerset, in the early hours of this morning.
At about 2.20am, the victim was walking along Albert Street, close to the junction with Halswell Close, when he was assaulted by two men.
He suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital, where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
Investigating officer Det Con Kelly-Ann Holdsworth said: "The scene has been cordoned off and we are carrying out numerous enquiries, which will include reviewing CCTV footage
"The victim has suffered some potentially life-changing injuries to his face.
"We are issuing descriptions of two men we would like to speak to. The first is white, in his mid twenties, about 6ft, of stocky build with short spikey hair. He was wearing a dark coloured t-shirt and jeans.
"The second man is described as mixed race, 6ft, of medium build, with short curly hair. He was wearing a dark jacket and black trousers or jeans.
"We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or has information on who was responsible, to call us."

An Irish tourist killed in Lanzarote has been named as Derek Cumiskey from Townsend Street in Dublin. Mr Cumiskey was on holiday with his sister and some friends when he was fatally assaulted yesterday.

Second Man Arrested After Man Is Seriously Injured In Wolverhampton
Police investigating a disturbance outside a Wolverhampton pub that saw a car veer into a crowd of people, leaving one man seriously hurt, have arrested a second man. Officers were called to reports of a disorder outside The Rookery Tavern in Wood Street at 7.30pm Sunday 4th May.

Father And Son Killed In Hertfordshire Shooting
A father and son were two of the victims of Tuesday's shooting incident in Hertfordshire. Police were called to a house in Plaw Hatch Close in Bishop's Stortford on Tuesday night and found the victims. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.
