Giant Octopus Causes Chaos In Oxford Circus

A flatbed lorry with a large octopus on the back broke down in Oxford Street in London during this morning's rush hour, it has been reported.

The breakdown caused disruptions for commuters, yet delighted tourists and onlookers who stood taking photos at the scene.

The incident blocked roads and caused traffic chaos during the morning rush hour, after the vehicle in which it was being transported broke down at the Oxford Circus junction and restricted a lane on Regent Street.

Transport for London tweeted a picture with the post: "A lorry carrying an octopus has broken down at Oxford Circus. Approach with care."

The transport company Roman Self Drive said it thought the creature was part of a World Cup-related publicity stunt by a betting company.
