Madeleine Police Begin New Search In Second Area
Police investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann in Portugal have began searching a second area in Praia da Luz, after a week-long search in scrubland ended without findings.
The second of the three areas police officers want to search is an area of overgrown grass land with a number of dilapidated outbuildings, which is situated off the main road out of Praia da Luz, around 15 minutes' walk from the Algarve holiday resort.
Yellow and white police tape had been stretched around the area, which is being guarded by armed local police.
Two sniffer dogs from South Wales Police have started to search the area, and officers are expected to spend three days at the site, which is behind a water treatment plant.
Madeleine McCann was three-years-old when she vanished seven years ago from the Praia da Luz' holiday apartment, while her parents dined with friends nearby.
