Firth 'Consciously Uncouples' From Paddington Bear
Oscar winning actor Colin Firth has dropped out of voicing Paddington Bear in the new movie as he felt his voice didn't suit the character.
Speaking to Empire, who broke the news, he said: "After a period of denial we've chosen 'conscious uncoupling.'"
"It's been bittersweet to see this delightful creature take shape and come to the sad realisation that he simply doesn't have my voice.
"I've had the joy of seeing most of the film and it's going to be quite wonderful."

Polar Bear Death Inquest Verdict Delayed Until Next Week
The verdict in an inquest into the death of 17-year-old boy mauled by a polar bear is to be delayed by a week. Horatio Chapple, from Salisbury, died after being attacked by the bear while on an adventure holiday with the British Schools Exploring Society (BSES) in August 2011. Four others in the group were seriously injured in the attack.

Teen Briton Killed By Polar Bear In Norway
A 17-year-old British tourist has been fatally injured after an attack by a polar bear on the remote Norwegian island of Svalbard. The UK national and four others were set upon while in the Arctic as part of a trip with the British Schools Exploring Society. A party of 80 mainly 16 to 23-year-olds were on the trip.

Landslide In Scotland To Cause Major Disruption
A landslide on a major route through southern Scotland is being assessed by transport bosses. The A7 was closed south of Langholm on Thursday, as heavy rain caused the road to partially cave in causing the landslip. Dumfries and Galloway Police say a 60-mile diversion is now in place and that the road may not open for some weeks.

Release Of Teddy Bear Insult Teacher Sought
The UK Foreign Office is continuing efforts to attempt to secure the release of a British teacher who has been jailed for 15 days in Sudan for allowing her pupils to name a teddy bear Muhammad. Gillian Gibbons, 54, from Liverpool, received the sentence and will be deported once it has been completed.
