Man Missing In Belfast
A man has been reported missing in the Belfast area by his family, who police say are concerned for his welfare.
18-year-old Matthew Bateman was last seen on Friday in the Botanic Gardens area in the south of the city.
Mr Bateman is originally from the Bangor, County Down area. He is described as being approximately 5'11" in height, of slim build, with dirty fair hair. He was unshaven but now but police say he may possibly have a ginger beard.
He was last seen wearing a blue-hooded top, dark tracksuit bottoms and black shoes. He was not wearing any socks.
Police have appealed for Matthew or anyone who knows of his whereabouts to contact them at Musgrave on the non-emergency number 101.
No Tax Relief For McLaren Fine
Formula 1 racing giant McLaren has lost its claim that a £32 million fine imposed against it by the sport's governing body should be tax deductible.
McLaren took legal action after HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) disagreed that it could deduct the fine in computing its taxable profits. However, a tax tribunal has now supported HMRC's view.
HMRC's Director General of Business Tax, Jim Harra, welcomed the ruling: "We're very pleased the Upper Tribunal agrees that the fine should not be given tax relief, which supports our view that most fines are not allowable as deductions against trading income.
"This case shows that we won’t hesitate to go to court to make sure the right tax is paid."
The £32 million penalty was imposed on McLaren by the sport’s governing body, the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), in 2007 for breaching its International Sporting Code.
Green Light For East Anglia One Offshore Wind Farm
The East Anglia One offshore wind farm that is expected to support almost 2,900 jobs and bring more than £520m of investment into the UK's economy has been given consent from the government to go ahead.
This is an important milestone for what could be one of the largest wind farms in the world. Once built, it would be worth £10m a year to the East Anglian economy and generate enough electricity to power approximately 820,000 homes.
Based off the coast of Suffolk, East Anglia One offshore wind farm could support around 1,800 local jobs and pump over £500m into the region's economy.
