Peter Pan Author's Grave Vandalised
Police have launched an appeal after the grave of Peter Pan author JM Barrie, located in Kirriemuir, was vandalised.
The playwright and author is buried in a family plot, which was vandalised when stones were pulled from the memorial wall at the grave and moved around.
Officers have appealed for information.
Before his death Mr Barrie, who was made Baronet by George V, gifted the rights to Peter Pan to the Great Ormond Street Hospital, which continues to benefit from them.
St. Modwen To Build Student Apartments
St. Modwen has signed an agreement with Swansea University to deliver additional student facilities.
The £50 million deal will provide accommodation for an additional 545 student apartments and boost the Bay Campus development.This will bring the total amount of new student residences to 1,462 clustered around communal courtyards.
The new development will also deliver important ancillary facilities for
students and staff at the Bay including a dedicated sports hall and recreational gym, a flood lit outdoor pitch, a crèche facility and a number of music practice rooms and communal space to support clubs and societies. In addition within this student facing complex there is the provision for a dedicated Students Union facility thereby creating first class amenities for campus users to enjoy.
Rupert Joseland, South Wales' regional director for St. Modwen, the land owner and partner developer for the Bay Campus said: "The development at the Swansea University Bay Campus is starting to take shape with many of the key buildings now well underway as the project’s first phase gears up to complete next year. This new campus development is a major highlight of St. Modwen’s ongoing 3,500 acre regeneration programme across South Wales and this latest agreement with the University is the next step in the vision to create a world-class educational establishment that will benefit students, staff and the local community for generations to come."

As part of the government’s long-term economic plan to build a fairer society, the strategy sets out what is being done to tackle the root causes of child poverty, building on the first strategy published in 2011.

Liberal Democrats to tackle student debt
The Liberal Democrats have promised to remove the fear of debt from university students by scrapping tuition and top-up fees and increase grants for poorer students. The party announced that a Liberal Democrat government would provide grants of up to £2,000 per year to poorer students.

A report to Government on genomic technology published on Wednesday has called for greater use of gene therapy in the health service. The report from the Human Genomics Strategy Group, chaired by Professor Sir John Bell, analysed the UK’s use of genetics research to date and proposes a "strategic vision" to realise the future benefit of genomics.
